National real estate group LJ Hooker Commercial has established a full-service agency on the Sunshine Coast, combining award-winning local expertise with national systems and connections for business owners, investors, syndicates, government agencies and others.

LJ Hooker Commercial Sunshine Coast will be led by one of the brand’s longest-standing members, the Stewart family, which has been partnering with clients for bespoke commercial real estate outcomes throughout Queensland for more than three decades.

Chris Stewart, the Real Estate Institute of Queensland’s current Top Commercial Real Estate Sales Agent, said the Alexandra Parade-based agency’s arrival in the local market had already been well-received by their existing clients.

“There’s been a lot of focus on the Sunshine Coast’s residential market on the back of COVID-19, but the commercial property sector has likewise attracted significant interest,” said Mr Stewart.

“One in three people who left the city for a sea or tree change during the pandemic set up roots on the Sunshine Coast. That influx of new residents benefits the local retail property sector, creating more demand for goods and services and supporting confidence amongst business operators.

“We’re seeing more professional services businesses, manufacturers and logistics specialists wanting to set up on the Sunshine Coast, as well. On the back of the airport expansion, the broadband submarine cable and the innovative thinking behind the Maroochydore masterplan, there’s a lot of excitement in the market.

“It’s a very accessible destination as well: tenancy rates for office and industrial properties are well-below that you would pay in Brisbane, backed by an amazing lifestyle and infrastructure program.”

Mr Stewart is a third-generation real estate professional. His parents, Mike and Julie, have been influential leaders within LJ Hooker Commercial’s national network for more than three decades.

LJ Hooker Group’s General Manager, Network, Stephen Mutton said the opening of the Alexandra Parade office was a milestone for LJ Hooker Commercial.

“The Sunshine Coast market will be one of Australia’s most dynamic regions for business in the coming years,” he said.

“The Sunshine Coast is setting the pace with its appeal being driven by greater connectivity, a diverse population and increased awareness of its capabilities as a business destination.

“The Stewarts have been exceptional representatives of LJ Hooker Commercial throughout Queensland and their commitment to the Sunshine Coast will be welcomed by tenants, owner-occupiers, investors and public agencies who want leading guidance and outcomes for their commercial property strategies.”
