LJ Hooker Commercial’s Silverwater and Central Coast agencies won a raft of titles at the network’s inaugural specialist awards this week.

The Silverwater team took home a total of five gongs announced at the network’s Connect18 Conference, including the coveted Office of the Year title. The award represents the agency that secured the best combined performance for clients across all disciplines - sales, leasing and property management - over the last 12 months.

Additionally, LJ Hooker Commercial Silverwater Director Marcel Elias was named Agent of the Year – judged across both sales and leasing – and Top Leasing Agent of the Year. Mr Elias was credited with the Top Lease for 2017-18. Operating for landlord, LOGOS, he secured a pre-lease to tenants Visa Global Logistics which took a 12-year initial term for a purpose-built 6,000sqm warehouse and 18,000sqm hardstand facility at Erskine Park.

The Silverwater team was also named Leasing Office of the Year.

Up the M1, LJ Hooker Commercial Central Coast Area Specialist Ty Blanch was named the Sales Agent of the Year, recording the highest combined value of deals for clients. Amongst his sales was a $9 million settlement of a 2.15ha site that included 5,635sqm of warehouse and 3,111sqm of office at Berkeley Vale with proximity of the M1.

The Central Coast agency also named LJ Hooker Commercial’s Sales Office of the Year.

LJ Hooker Commercial Gold Coast was named the Asset Management Office of the Year in a keenly contested category. Specialists in retail management, LJ Hooker Commercial Gold Coast is sought after for its reliability in managing and optimising shopping centres and other commercial assets for landlords throughout South East Queensland.

Individual Sale of the Year went to LJ Hooker Commercial Canberra’s Greg Lyons and Mark Thompson who managed the ACT Government’s divestment of a 12,000sqm redevelopment site which was the former address of the old Bega public housing flats. Taking the large-scale site to auction, the property sold under the hammer for $38.5 million.

LJ Hooker Commercial Managing Director Mathew Tiller said the awards were a milestone for the network.

“While commercial specialists have been represented in LJ Hooker’s group awards for many years, this was the first time we’ve come together to celebrate our LJ Hooker Commercial network team members on their own platform,” said Mr Tiller.

“We’re a full-service agency and the awards reflect that. The honours also illustrate the breadth of clients we service: from high net worth investors through to institutions, SMEs to multinationals, we can identify the needs of every client.

“Brisbane to Perth, Hobart to Darwin, LJ Hooker Commercial has a truly national approach to collaboration and cross-sector expertise.”
