Commercial property owners and leaseholders along Pelican Waters Boulevard on the Sunshine Coast ...
Commercial property owners and leaseholders along Pelican Waters Boulevard on the Sunshine Coast will be interested in two new reports to be released by the council explaining its flood modelling methods.
The reports are due to be released by December 1 and are titled Pelican Waters Boulevard Hydraulic Analysis Pelican Waters Drainage Review.
Tim Dwyer of Sunshine Coast Council explained that he is keen to collaborate with technical stakeholders, who have been invited to provide further insight and information before the report is released to the general public in early December.
Stakeholders have been given an opportunity to contribute comments and additional information before the reports are released to the general public.
Dwyer explained that a permanent solution is needed to solve ongoing issues with flooding and drainage on the road, which affect local businesses and commercial property owners.
The commitment to resolve the problem should come as some relief to property owners as, according to the Sunshine Coast Daily, the boulevard has experienced flooding five times in the past two years.
Commercial property owners need to have a plan in place for emergencies - including flooding. Collaborating with local emergency services and ensuring the right insurance cover is in place are two was property owners can protect themselves and their commercial space.
