Northern Territory has seen economic opportunities roll into the state with the announcement of several mining contracts as well as record investment into health, education and infrastructure.
Recently it was also announced that NT was ranked to be one of the top 11 mining jurisdictions in the world, illustrating the potential for commercial property investment in the area.
The survey on which the rankings were determined, the 2011-12 Canadian-based Fraser Institute, polled over 800 executive respondents and rated 92 different locations to garner the results.
Northern Territory's capital has been reaping many of the benefits of the state's progression and has released a strategy to further prepare for the future.
The Greater Darwin Plan will assist Darwin in expanding by up to 70,000 extra people over the next 15 years, according to chief minister Paul Henderson.
He said: "The Territory is about to enter a period of record employment and population growth and this plan provides the strategic planning framework as Darwin grows into the oil and gas capital of Australia."
