Business owners who rent commercial property in Adelaide will be among those who benefit from the roll-out of the National Broadband Network (NBN) in the South Australia capital city over the next three years.
Lord mayor Stephen Yarwood warmly welcomed the news that Adelaide businesses - and commercial property owners and tenants right across the state - will now have a much clearer timeframe of when to expect the improved service.
He said: "This really is great news, not just for Adelaide but for South Australia."
Yarwood added that by July 2015, the federal government estimates that some 327,000 businesses, schools, homes and hospitals will have access to the NBN.
Construction on the network could be underway as early as this month.
"Faster broadband will ultimately place Adelaide at the cutting edge of the new economy," Yarwood asserted.
NBN access may make commercial property in Adelaide a desirable commodity, and business owners will want to make sure they stay abreast of the latest developments in their area.
Business owners who are keen to learn which areas of South Australia will benefit first from the NBN roll-out can use the NBN Co website to search by postcode or suburb.
