A $5 billion infrastructure project earmarked for the Sunshine Coast is expected to create 45,000 jobs in the region and inject millions of dollars into the local economy.
The Oceanside Kawana public and private health precinct will span 140 hectares and include a town centre, a dedicated transit and commercial area, as well as new roads, bridges, local amenities and parks.
Sunshine Coast mayor Mark Jamieson said the massive project will attract commercial and residential and investment into the growing region.
He commented: "These sorts of developments create confidence in the future of our region and help potential investors to commit to the Sunshine Coast."
With the project spanning over the next 15 years, property investors are likely to be attracted to the area, which is expected to see a surge in population growth as a result.
Savvy buyers may be interested in snapping up residential real estate or commercial retail property in the Sunshine Coast area, with the project likely to drive up values in the area.
"This project will generate tens of thousands of jobs and consolidate the health and construction industries - helping to make our economy sustainable," Mr Jamieson added.
