Barangaroo commercial project applications on public display

November 17, 2011

Project applications for two commercial towers at Sydney's new harbourfront development at Barangaroo are now on public display at the City of Sydney's Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

Plans for the buildings - known as Buildings C3 and C5 - can be seen at the City of Sydney One Stop Shop at Town Hall House, the Department of Planning and Infrastructure's information centre - which is located on Bridge Street - and the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, although the latter is not considered to be an official exhibition location.

The application for Building C3 includes provisions for the construction of a 49-storey commercial structure containing 105,573 sq m of office space, as well as 7,164 sq m of retail floor space and 1,559 sq m designated for community uses - namely the construction of a childcare centre.

Meanwhile, the 39-storey Building C5 will have commercial floor space totalling 83,883 sq m and 5,378 sq m of retail floor space.

All applications will remain on exhibition until December 5 and can also be viewed online.

The applications for Buildings C3 and C5 mark the end of Lend Lease's planning submissions for the commercial towers at Barangaroo South, which will form part of the NSW capital's largest financial hub.

Last month, state premier Barry O'Farrell was on hand to break ground at the site, where construction is now officially underway.
